I saw a link to this on DrunkCyclist.  It’s a petition to have Google revise their online maps to provide riding directions from Point A to Point B for people who ride their bikes.  They do it for cars, why not for bikes?

I KNOW!!!

Go now and sign the petition!  I just did!

No posts this week?  What’s with that?  Nothing, that’s what.

There will be posts next week no doubt, as tomorrow is the STP, aka Seattle to Portland, bike ride.  As per usual, me Dave and Dean will be at the start line explaining to rich idiots how to put air into the tires on their $5000 bikes.  I’m not kidding folks, there are PLENTY of people who will be at the start line who are woefully ill-prepared.  I’m not talking “Ooops I forgot a rain shell”, I’m talking “Okay how do I shift this thing?”.

Oh man….4am to 7:30am.  At least it’ll be over before I wake up.

My sister hates it when I say that, but in this case I’m only using it in the harmless hiphop, collective sense, not the misogynistic sense that I’m known for…

The bitches in this case are the Seattle Supersonics.  Yes folks, it’s official.  The Seattle Supersonics are going to be the Oklahoma City Supersonics starting next season.

I’ve seen the Sonics twice now, both times were because a free ticket was available.  I’m not a hater, mind you, I’m more of an apathetic who cares-er in this case.  It always comes back to the American Way for me.  This time American Way manifests itself like this:  the Sonics demanded that upgrades be made to Key Arena so that they could “provide an upgraded experience for the fans”, which means so they can charge Disneyland prices for a sporting event that is more exciting when played by high school kids.  The team demanded that upgrades be made and that the city of Seattle pay for them or they’re leaving.  I remember being a child and threatening people that if I didn’t get my way, I’d do something that nobody cared about…kinda the same thing.  And the key here (good one, Chewy…) is that the venue was upgraded 10 years ago.  It’s fine.

I can’t really blame the Sonics, though.  After all, they saw what happened with the Mariners and the Seahawks.  Both teams got new stadiums that were payed for by the taxpayers, even though the taxpayers voted NO twice.  Hell, why NOT try to get away with that shit, if it proved fruitful for baseball and football.  But for some reason, third time WASN’T a charm.

Oh well.  Later, bitches…

Sorry, Dave.
