I could tell you, but then you’d just be confused…
In the last couple weeks, I’ve fallen asleep with the TV on a number of times. This makes for some strange dreams.
Last night I dreamt that Dean and I were at the bike shop when an emergency arose. I’m talking National Emergency, like call the military or get the NSA or somebody involved kind of emergency. Well, the van was parked way over in Kirkland about 10 miles away, so me and the other guy tore off on our road bikes and got to the van asap so that we could get to the jets and take care of whatever threat we were on alert for. Okay, that makes sense. In Dreamland that makes sense. Well, not too much later on, we got another call and everything was the same except that this time I was running instead of on my bike and since the other guy still had to get to Kirkland and fast, well he took off and I waited for him where I was. Now here’s where logic starts to buckle a little bit. Everything in the scenario was identical, that we had to get to the van that was parked a ways off so that we could drive to the jets and crush the enemy. The thing is that when the other guy left me and I waited for him, I went to a parking spot right nearby where the van was parked and I had to decide (because I didn’t have my bicycle with me) which baby trailer I was going to hook up to the bumper of the van. I couldn’t decide between the blue and yellow one (which has a superior attaching mechanism) or the plain blue one (which looked like it might last longer in a combat situation). Oh yeah, and the other guy? He wasn’t anybody I’d met before, he was just some 6ft Asian dude who must have been my partner. I know that I didn’t know him at all, but in the dream it was just understood that he had my back and I had his. Done!
In another segment, I dreamt that I was meeting up with Andrew for another swashbuckling adventure. I knew rounding him up and bringing him with me was extremely important, but I don’t know if we were going to save the world, or if we were late for something. I don’t know. I do know that Jason from Puyallup was there and we were talking about motorcycles when I realized that I came by bike to pick up Andrew. And for some reason just at that very moment, Andrew picked up the carbon fiber helmet that was near him and he pitched it out into traffic, where it got ran over and ruined. I remember that it was a red, white and blue helmet. And it wasn’t mine. And that now we didn’t have ANY helmets and we were still late getting to wherever we were going. So now in my dream, Andrew and I need the van to go get some more helmets so that we can be on the motorcycle legally, but we need the bike to get to the van so that we can go save the world or something. Rock and a hard place.
That doesn’t include the parts of that segment where I was fooled on the cell phone by Andrew’s twin brother, who had pulled the same I’m-not-Andrew-I’m-his-brother trick on me earlier. In my dream, it was in an earlier dream that he had tricked me, but it’s kinda vague and very convoluted so that’s all I’m gonna say about that.
Then there was another segment where I was working in a sporting goods store and this short white dude in a puffy jacket and a pin-striped Zoo York ballcap was asking me about a specific item. I think he was asking me for some kind of pads that he needed, and I kept on asking him questions, but he wasn’t getting any clearer than the fact that he needed some pads. ??? So then he mentioned that they were for his girlfriend and so I asked if she could maybe tell me what she needed. So she went on to tell me that she was a rock climber and when she’d get to the top of most climbs, she had to haul herself up onto the ledge and the way that she did that would scrape up her forearms and so she wanted some pads to combat that problem. Oh. Uhhhh, we got these and these, but none of those were what she wanted. After about 10 minutes of Q and A, it was found out that what she wanted was an ace bandage to wrap the arms up in. Oh. So I went into the back to go find some ace bandages for her.
When I got into the backstock area, it was a nursery and it appeared that the place was being packed up and moved out. I also knew that while I was the only employee in this store, there were a bunch of people back in this area and they were doing inventory on everything as it was being packed up. But, it was a NURSERY! And I realized that I REALLY had to go pee (at least I know where THAT part came from). I found the bandages but before I could get them to the customers, I woke up.
