wildlife photography

You know how when you live in a metropolitan area, people keep their pets on leashes and they have the little doo-doo baggies to pick up after their pets, and (being a metro area, like I said) you don’t see much wildlife? And when you do, it’s a raccoon or a possum mostly? In Seattle, we keep our trash covered on trash day so that dogs won’t dig in the trash, but really there are no dogs that roam around on their own. So many people are afraid of Sparky getting hit by a car or raped or something.

Not so, here. You keep your trash covered. With a bungy cord. If you don’t, you’ll have ravens getting into your garbage just like shown in the photo. Mind you, these aren’t stupid animals like crows and magpies. No, ravens see you coming and watch you. They regard you. You can see the thoughtfulness in their beady little black eyes. Little is a relative term here, cuz ravens are almost as large as eagles.

Speaking of eagles. I’m gonna have to go to the dump to get some shots of our nation’s symbol. They are of course, beautiful birds, but if you HAVE to get a picture of one within the hour, just go to the dump. That’s where the food is…
